About the event
South Wales doesn't do gentle. The AA Ogmore Valley Trail drops you into some of the most dramatic terrain in the region; rugged uplands, forest descents, and valley views that earn every step. Starting and finishing on Wilfried Way in Tonyrefail, this event runs in three distances. Pick your challenge.
Half Marathon — 13.8 miles | 1,622ft elevation For runners who want a proper day out.
You'll leave the tarmac fast, climbing to the cycle path and following it all the way to Blackmill before the route turns skyward over Mynydd Y Gaer and Mynydd Maendy. The Great Glamorgan Way threads through upland trails, drops you into Smilog Woods, then sends you back on technical paths to the finish. Muddy, demanding, and worth every metre, built for first-timers and seasoned trail runners alike.
