Introduction to the programme There are 7 lifts covered in this guide, all carefully chosen to cater to an absolute beginner to build the strongest base possible. All are compound lifts meaning they are strengthening exercises where you're using more than one muscle group at the same time. When performing all of these lifts, you will be able to stimulate all of the major muscle groups in your body. There’s no need to worry about not covering certain muscles or overworking a single muscle group. The lifts are: • Back squat • Romanian deadlift • Overhead press • Bench press • Bent over rows • Pull ups • Dips Equipment needed This guide will require equipment such as: • Weight rack • Barbell with clamps or spring collars • Bench press rack • Disc weights • Weight belt • Pull up bar • Dip bars Most gyms will have everything above except from the weight belt which you can find on amazon.
